Le message Météo donne le nom de la station ou de l'aéroport si elle est implantée sur un aéroport et la phrase :
" automated weather observation" , suivi de l'heure .
Ex : ………national airport automated weather observation 1456 zulu…

ASOS = Automated Surface Observing System , 2 types qui sont AO1 et AO2.
Ils apparaissent dans la partie " remarque " d'un METAR.
Sur le METAR de PHILADELPHIE on devait trouver les termes = RMK AO2 SLP238.
Cette information a été reprise sur l'ATIS par : remarque type de station automatisée AO2 Sea Level Pressure 238 = 1023,8 hPa.

Aircraft arresting devices ( Civil/Military airport ) barriers and cables = It is used to prevent aircraft from overrunning runways when the aircraft cannot be stopped after landing or during aborted takeoff.
Arresting system have various names , arresting gear , hook device , wire barrier cable.
Cable up = means that the cable is under tension across the runway and elevated off the runway by use of rubber donuts or rubber elevation arms.
The arresting cable is suspended by rubber donuts 15 cm in diameter.
